Our staff receive ongoing training in mandatory areas of Social Care meeting the required Skills for Care elements in:

  • Safe Handling of people
  • Safe guarding Adults
  • Health and Safety
  • Food Hygiene
  • Medication training
  • First Aid

They also receive specialist training relating to specific illnesses and disabilities such as Huntington’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Motor Neurone Disease and supranuclear palsy (PSP), as well as Stroke awareness, Diabetes and Dementia training.

Many staff have NVQ level 2 and 3 qualifications in Health and Social Care and all our staff work towards gaining these qualifications within the first year of joining us.

All staff have criminal record checks before their employment commences and are recruited in accordance with the Judgement Framework of the Care Quality Commission.
